[GETPPP Students in front of POSCO Energy, Incheon Facility]

On April 20, 2016, GETPP students had the opportunity to visit the POSCO Energy facility in Incheon, Korea. POSCO Energy presented a number of overseas business projects around the world, including Mongolia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The presentation also included future plans and vision for low carbon energy development such as LNG and fuel cell technologies. The facility is also home to the Incheon LNG Combined Cycle Power Plant. 

The LNG combined cycle system uses a method in which a gas turbine generates electricity in the initial cycle by combusting LNG, and the waste heat from the this operation is recovered by HRSG and is used to produce steam at high-temperature and pressure to drive the steam turbine.​ The facility has a total capacity of 3,052MW.
