On March 4, 2016, the Green School welcomed the 2016 GETPPP scholars with a tour of the Main and Science Campus in the afternoon. The eight GETPPP scholars come from seven countries: Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Vietnam. 

Following the campus tour, the Matriculation Ceremony was held at the Innovation Building and was officiated by the GETPPP Program Director Professor Sungjin Kang. Dean of the Green School, 

Professor Jinwoo Park, congratulated and welcomed the incoming students to the Green School at Korea University. He expressed his optimism for the practical applications in the program, as all of the scholars have experience working in the public sector in their respective countries. Dean Jinwoo Park encouraged students to bring their “experiences and background to the classroom in providing insights to [their] peers on how global challenges are impacting individual countries and communities.” GETPPP integration of professional experience with academia and global networks provides a unique professional development for tackling the environmental and energy challenges facing society.
