The 2nd Korea-Mongolia Future Strategy Forum, co-hosted by the Ahnsei Foundation, Herald Media Group, Yonsei University, and Korea University's GETPPP program, was held on August 27 at Novotel Ulaanbaatar. Over 250 attendees, including government officials, business leaders, and cultural figures from both countries, gathered to discuss cooperation on critical minerals and future energy collaboration. The forum was sponsored by KCH Energy. This forum, under the theme “Korea-Mongolia Cooperation on Critical Minerals and Future Energy,” aimed to promote economic development through private sector exchanges in energy and resources. Despite the emotional and historical ties between the two nations, the scale of trade remains relatively small.
The event featured 26 speakers, including high-profile figures from both Korea and Mongolia, such as Kim Sook, co-chair of the forum and Executive Director of the Ban Ki-moon Foundation, and Battumur Batsuuri, advisor to Mongolia's first deputy prime minister. Key sessions focused on cooperation in critical minerals and future energy, followed by a cultural evening featuring traditional performances and collaborative film projects.
The forum drew significant media attention in Mongolia, with outlets like TenGer TV conducting interviews with key participants. The Korea-Mongolia Future Strategy Forum, first held in Seoul in November 2023, will continue with its third event in Busan later this year. |
