On 4 October 2024, the KU-GETPPP program held a joint forum at the Conference House DALGAEBI on the topic ‘Korea-Czech Republic Economic Cooperation: Focusing on the energy sector’, a joint forum with the Association of Korean Economic Studies. The event was attended by 32 participants, including faculty, administrative staff, and mentors.
The purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity to discuss differences and complementarities in Korea-Czech Republic, Korea-Hungary cooperation and cooperation with GETPPP students' countries of origin. The event started with an opening speech by Prof Soon-Won Kwon, President of the Association of Korean Economic Studies. The presentation by Prof. Jana Vlčková from the University of Economics of the Czech Republic provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Korea and the Czech Republic, to establish a strategic dialogue for common interests, to enhance cooperation in the field of energy resources, and to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. In addition, a discussion with Prof. Tamás Pesuth from Corvinus University in Hungary reviewed the status of cooperation with Hungary in the field of energy resources and the possibilities for enhancing cooperation.
The forum was followed by a dinner, where
attendees had the opportunity to share their impressions and opinions on the
event and expand their networks between their respective industries.
The event was a great success as it allowed for in-depth discussions on how to improve cooperation in the energy resources sector in Korea-Czech Republic, Korea-Hungary, and Korea-GETPPP students' countries of origin, diagnosing problems and promoting the GETPPP program to executives and members of the Czech Republic, Hungary, The Asia Foundation, and the Association of Korean Economic Studies. The GETPPP program continues to strive to develop global leaders who can innovate and collaborate across borders. The wealth of experience and knowledge shared at this forum is a testament to this. Various moments from the event were also captured in photos, including group photos with participants, faculty and students listening to the forum, as well as the dinner and networking time. |
