On March 29, 2024, students from GETPPP participated in the International Conference on the Voluntary Carbon Market held at the Choi Jong Hyun Hall in the SK Future Hall of Korea University. The forum was co-hosted by Korea University's GETPP, the A Foundation, Yonsei University's Institute of International Studies, the Korea Energy Economics Institute, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, with sponsorship from the Ministry itself. The primary goal of the forum was to review the recent status of the global carbon market and the trends in the voluntary carbon market, and to explore strategies for efficiently achieving NDCs and carbon neutrality through the integration of the Paris Agreement market mechanisms and voluntary carbon markets.

 Distinguished guests including representatives from the Embassy of Pakistan, the Deputy Minister of Finance from Nepal, and experts from Mongolia's Ministry of Energy attended the forum. Notably, some of these guests were alumni of the GETPPP program. The event featured presentations such as " Design of Voluntary Carbon Markets " by Professor Yong Gun Kim from Yonsei University, " Experiences and Lessons from Operating the Voluntary Carbon Market " by Do-hyun Kim, a representative from Finn Harv in Canada, and " The case of VCM in Korea and its implication " by Director Geun-hoo Park from NH Investment & Securities. The discussions were moderated by Professor Seong-jin Kang from Korea University, focusing on Country-Specific Carbon Market Conditions (utilization of Paris Agreement market mechanisms) and the Potential of the Voluntary Carbon Market
