2023 Financial Institutions’ Role in Meeting Paris Climate Goals Policy Forum was held on the 22nd of February in Cuckoo Hall of Korea University LG-POSCO Building. The policy forum was hosted by Institute of Economic Research, Korea University (KU-IER), and co-hosted by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Global Energy Technology Policy Professionals Program (KU-GETPPP). GETPPP Professor Shijun Cao and students (Zune Zune Htet, Yav Ngin, Bethmage Ruchira Lasanthi Perera, Jane Nyaboke Mbogo and Yimenu Kassahun Adamu) both took an active part in this conference.

Before the presentations, Prof. Tae Yong Jung (Yonsei University) and other participants discussed about the role of financial institutions in meeting Paris Climate Goals.

After the presentations, the participants were given some time with the speakers, experts and GETPPP students for discussing more in-depth questions. These included a wide range of topics, such as how to access the Korea’s finance when you have a development project, how to apply loans to cooperation with job creation, how to ask the cooperation to increase their transparency, and Korean government’s effort on reducing carbon emissions for carbon neutrality goals.​
