On 14th April 2023, GETPPP students visited Korean Demilitarized Zone

Purpose: 

Deepening understanding of the division between North and South Korea since the outbreak of the Korean War through visits to Pyeonghwa Nuri Park in Imjingak, the northernmost point accessible to civilians, and Odusan Unification Observatory, where visitors can observe North Korea. Deepening understanding of the damage of the war by visiting various sculptures for displaced people and a memorial space for veterans and civilians sacrificed during the Korean War. 

Main Schedule: April 14, 2023 (Fri) Paju Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri Park (10:00-13:00)

- Visit to Mangbaedan for the displaced people in Imjingak, Paju

- Visit the memorial space at Camp Greaves, which was used as a US military base during the Korean War.

- Ride the Imjin River Gondola

- Gyeonguijeon Jangdan Station Steam Locomotive (National Registered Cultural Heritage)

- Tofu set lunch using Jangdan soybeans, a specialty of Paju
