The theme for the 2017 Far East Energy and Development International Conference (FEDC) will be the “Sustainable Energy and Smart City” to be held on Friday, May 26th, at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul.
Facing the 4th Industrial Revolution and the Post-2020 New Climate Regime, the Far East Asia faces newly coming economic, social and environmental challenges. Developed countries need to sustain their own economic development. However, developing countries are not easy to tackle the challenges by themselves without international cooperation in finance, technology and capacity building with the advanced countries. Furthermore traditional economic development strategies themselves are not enough to accomplish the objectives that developed as well as developing countries intend to achieve.
Through intensive and comprehensive discussions of international scholars specialized on future energy and integrated regional development, the international conference aims to investigate the possible solutions to achieve sustainable development though international cooperation.
